Ashamed to be an Illinoisian

(This is my opinion, as is everything I post on this blog SMB statement:))

Well yesterday was kind of a blah day for me. First it started out wonderful as all days do, but when I received a text message that said the Bachman family would get $15.5M for their loss, I was elated. It's about time the county does some thing right for it's people for a change. Well spent tax money if you ask me, they say they are looking for way to raise the funds that the insurance doesn't cover. Oh about get rid of wasteful spending, like replacing perfectly good address signs, whats up with that and street signs replaced to have little flags on them. Frankly I prefer the red address sign that is in my yard, it doesn't blend into the trees and grass etc and it isn't a dump looking flag thing. Please leave my address sign alone, besides it wasn't that long ago that they replaced the old rusty one with a shiny new one. Stop the wasteful spending of our money please!!! Not to mention, but I will later the terrible reconstruction of the intersection where this tragedy happened. Oh my goodness, yesterday was the first I've seen it completed since I heard many folks complain about it on the radio.

Soon the emotion turned from elated to confusion. If they settled for two of the kids, why did it say in the next paragraph that DJ's case is still outstanding and may go to trial. WHY??? Stop dragging these people through this ordeal, if you settle for 2 of them people in the car why drag it on for the 3rd? I just don't get it. And why are they even considering raising costs on things for us, we the people, for the deficit, may you officers should have a car wash or something every weekend to pay for your error, cut back on office supplies, I'm not sure but you can find ways to pay for your own mistakes just like we have to. I'm going to leave that there because I'll just get more fired up and ruin my day if I don't.

As the day went on it got worse, the grocer copped a tiny attitude when I called to check if they price match and accepted coupons, first a lady told me, a bit sternly I thought, that they do not take internet coupons, like they are contaminated or something, why do the manufacturers have us print them from their websites if the stores won't accept them? When I asked if they price match, she took a breath and told me to hold, next I know the manager is on the phone asking me, you know in that voice they get when they are defensive, "Can help you"? I asked ?Do you price match"? "No", he replied, "we have our own ads, our own specials and in house offers, we do not price match". "Oh, ok", I said a bit offended, "and you don't take internet coupons"? I asked. "No, nothing you print, copy on a machine nothing but newspaper and magazine coupons, is there anything else I can help you with"? I certainly didn't want to talk to him anymore so I said "No, thank you, good bye". He was pretty stern. What is the big deal. I thought long and hard before I went to take advantage of their sales but getting nearly $100 of groceries for $55 was worth it and I felt as though I had turned the other cheek.

After that phone call I head to Loves Park, bless the lady from freecycle that gave me a twin mattress for the bed that my dear son had stolen the mattress off of to give to his gf. :)) Well, at least I think I have installed a giving trait in him. So that brings me to the intersection of W. State St and Weldon Rd. The site of the tragic Bachman accident, if you thought that intersection was bad before, with the overpass blocking some of the view as the road curves into that area, on my goodness, there is so many dashes and lines and new lanes, I honestly wasn't sure if I was driving in the right space. Once I got past that and on the normal path my first thought was they think they had problems before, I wonder that that mess will cause. I had heard people complain about it on the radio and now I know for myself. I think it is more dangerous now then before, hopefully it is just one of those dumb changes we just have to get used to and hopefully it won't claim anymore lives in the meantime. Be careful out there!

Driving along I hear on the radio the names of the 7 senators that voted to continue giving our hard earned tax dollars to Acorn. Should I have been surprised that 2 of them were from IL. Sen. Dick Durbin D and Sen. Roland Burris D. If it wasn't bad enough getting comments from people in other states, (we travel & have a kid in college in another state that gets the same) asking us why we voted in Obama and things about the IL mob. Now it is broadcast all over America that our senators support minor abuse and prostitution and want the tax payers to pay for it. Oh My Gosh, would some one move me out of this state soon! This is unbelievable. God help us, please. Amen. I do not understand what is wrong with people that would vote to continue to support such a thing? I'm sorry to say but I think IL government is corrupt and that the mob still reigns here just like the old days and the one of them is leading all of us down the tubes from the White House and it makes me very sad.

The American people stand up and those in DC have the nerve to call those that put them there in the first place Nazi's and racist and a whole host of other things. Well have you heard that old childhood saying, nanadabooboo what bounces of me sticks on you (something like that)meaning what you call me you really are. I cry sometimes as I watch the way things are forming in our Capital and can only hope that like Van Jones we can continue to stand against this madness and remove these people from office. Stand fast America, 2010 is just around the corner. Thank you Glenn Beck for having the nerve to expose this disgrace to the world, keep up the good fight! I also pray that if they get their way on too many things that Jesus will comes back and rescue us before it gets too bad. :)

The final issue that made me upset and it was a national thing, is seeing X-president Jimmy Carter on TV saying that if we stand up against what we don't like about what the government, it is because of race. Oh my gosh, will the left get off it. We are not racist we are upset about what's happening to our country and it doesn't have anything to do with anyone's skin color! Thank you Michael Steele, for standing up and speaking the truth just now, it is not racial! BRAVO!!

This is only a few things that made me sad and ashamed to be an Illinoisian yesterday. I'm sure their is a whole bunch of things that happened that we don't even know about. As this government seems to like to work while we sleep.

Hey on a good note, twice as many people protested their property taxes this year then even last year when we all got hit
Czars= 32 people running things, advising the President and spending trillions of your dollars and answering to No One. We didn't elect them, we had no say so in hiring them, we're paying them, whats wrong with this picture? Most of them I wouldn't let watch my children (if they were little). :)

If someone comments to you about the government garbage and why you "the person from IL" voted them in , stand proud and tell them "I didn't do it"! :))

Breaking News:
The Baucus Health Care Plan.
1>Mandatory individual insurance w/a fine of $3,800 per family for non-compliance. Well heck if I can't afford insurance, how can I afford a fine like that?
2> $349 Billion in new taxes and fees w/ 35% for the good stuff.
So does this mean the people in Washington DC will be paying these taxes and fees, out of their pockets I hope, for that great benefits we provide to them??
3> $507Billion dollars in cuts to Medicare
Thought it wasn't going to affect our elderly?

The only good thing I see so far is it would get rid of the 'existing conditions' policy!

Ok, I got that off my chest, guess I'll go hang the clothes out! Have a great day!!
