Crochet
Blah day
I'm not ready for the temps to drop, but then I never am.
It is a good day to do some house cleaning, put up some cupboard doors and maybe paint the rest of them, crochet and play games on facebook. BJ went back to school today.
It only took me 3 tries to make a good loaf of bread. Lesson
learned, if the bread caves in, in the center (using a bread machine), reduce the amount of water used in the recipe. When I get more yeast I'm going to try the potato bread, it just sounds good.
Well I better get moving around here. Have a great day!

In the Beginning & Medical Waste
Hi this is the beginning of my new blog. I am going to use this forum to talk about my family, hobbies, thoughts, beliefs and anything else that comes to my mind. A forum for fun and release if I may. :)

That being said, I'll get to what finally persuaded me to start a blog is the Health care issue & my hubby and medical waste of money as I see it. Last year my husband was hurt at work, he has 2 herniated discs in his neck. When the incident happened he immediately went to the Dr and began seeing out Chiropractor. At first workman's comp allowed the chiropractor and it seemed to be helping my husband. Then they said he had to stop going and of course they wouldn't pay the bill. Anyway, hubby works everyday with this pain in his neck until he can't stand it anymore and although he'd like to return to the chiropractic care the WC (workman's comp) say he must follow their procedure. So OK he is doing things their way and I've been thinking about it....
He goes to the Dr, they send him for an MRI, then they send him to the spine specialist. And as I had suggested to him they would, they told him he should have surgery on his neck to fuse his vertebrae together. Well then he will lose some mobility in his neck and then I wonder how would he do his job? Oh we're told he could be trained to do another. blah blah blah and I ask who will pay for future surgeries when the vertebrae next to these have to be fused and on and on we go.
Anyway, he asked them (WC) if he could get a second opinion? They agreed so now they paid for him to go to another spine specialist. Oh yea, in the meantime he is going to massage therapy 2x a week. (God forgive me I'm jealous of that :)) Can you imagine how much all of this is costing WC? Well hubby asked and the massage therapy alone is $125 a visit. $7000 a year they told him. Now so far none of this has done anything to help in the way the chiroprator was and through discussion we feel would continue to improve his condition. And the cost of the chiropractor vist minischule compared to all the the money this treatment has cost to this point.
But because they to not recognise chiropractic, they will pay out the nose for nothing. Well at least they did prove with the MRI that they (careless people & over crowded work environment) ruined his neck, for life we're told.
Wouldn't it be easier and a whole cheaper on all of the companies in the country is they'd reconsider the chiropractic advantage?? I can only think that WC and the Dr's are in cahoots with each other or something. Why are they always rushing to stick a knife in you? Who does that benefit except the surgeon and lawyers? Why is health care a mess, I think this is part of it, waste!!
I'm going back to putting my newly painted kitchen back together. :))
Oh yea, a little tidbit about me, I'm a 49 yr. old displaced worker, now happy to be an at home wife, mom of 4 and grandma of 3. Have a little piece of land in the country and some horses, chickens, dog and cats, even a few fish. Remodeling our old farm house. We enjoy our kid's sports, which keeps us very busy and sometimes travelling. In my spare time I enjoy crocheting and other crafts. The youngest son graduates at the end of this school year and we hope to go south. It will be a joy to get out of this crazy state (that's a whole other story). We love God and Jesus is our Lord. May you have a blessed day!
