All we have to trust in is God

Here is Illinois it seems like more and more often we wake to the news that some fee or tax is going to be increased or a new fee or tax is going to be imposed, it is the same in many states. What are we to do but pray that God will provide for us.

Yesterday it was increase in the cost of a drivers license and a notice that come January there will be an increase in license plate renewal fees. The latter alone means a $120 dollars increase a year for my family, unfortunately there was no increase in my husbands wages, as a matter of fact, his raise/cost of living increase was postponed til next year and who knows if things keep on if he will ever get one, the outlook is dreary. What are we to do except pray that God will find us worthy to be provided for.

Today first thing I read that in Rockford, they have been threatened that they must increase the garbage collection fees or have a big layoff of city employees, police, fire etc. They recently laid a bunch of people off. Why are we getting new address signs in our yards when we can't afford to protect people? Why isn't our money being managed better? We are all expected to cut back to just be able to afford necessities but the government who is also experiencing financial problems continues to squander OUR money. Why do they threaten us with taking away police, fire fighters and teachers, when those are exactly what OUR money is given to them to provide for us, instead of giving us shiny new green address markers and street signs with nice little American flags. It is because they know that these threats hit us where it counts and most will vote to allow these increases to keep these things. It is sad the abuse of power. What are we do to but pray that God will provide for us.

As I have vented about time and time again, they are taking and taking, no one is giving. They raise fees and taxes, businesses leave, there is less revenue so they they raise the fees and taxes again. The people still here, many unemployed because the companies can not afford the fees and taxes or have just left or closed, cutting business of other businesses, these people are left trying to pay for all the things IL wants whether we need them or not. Then more companies leave or close because they can't afford the increases, even less revenue, so what will they do, raise fees and taxes, who will pay, those of us still here, it is a viscious cycle and yet we do not get an increase to help pay for all of these fees and taxes. Soon we will not have any funds to pay our own bills, you know things like the mortgage, gas, electric, food, things like that, we'll sell cars because we can't afford to keep them, some won't buy them because the costs to keep them increase, this hurts the car salesman on and on it goes but we will have a shiny new green flag in our yard that announces our address or a $3000 sign on the side of the road telling why the road is being worked on, but yet no one is working on it,Hmmmm. What can we do but pray and pray hard that God will find us worthy to provide for what we need..

We also need to pray for our government, local and federal, that they will stop taking and reorganize so that we are provided with the basic things they are supposed provide to us, that they would actually cut all the wasteful spending and allow us to live our lives and provide for our families with the hard earned money that we make instead of them selfishly taking it all and wasting it on things we do not need. We need to pray for this and that God would actually Bless America. We need to pray that we change our ways to become worthy of God's Blessings. These are very scary times and what can we do except pray to God for help, guidance and that He will find us worthy to provide for our needs.

It's amazing how the country is today......

Listening to the news this morning and wondering why we are the way we are...

Mom faces fines and jail for letting kids wait for bus at her house, yet the Presidents preaches that we should help our neighbors. Hmmm

We are a country (I thought) that is anti-communist, tries to help other countries become democratic societies, help people get away from dictatorship leaderships, yet we're lighting up the Empire State building in Red to honor Communist China's Anniversary. I don't get it??

The President won't answer his General on sending more troops to Afghanistan or send our troops home if you aren't going to help them, but he has time to go beg for the Olympics to be in a city that doesn't even seem to be sure that they want it there.
Aren't there many more important things to deal with then the Olympics, Mr. President? Doesn't this state (IL) have enough wasteful expense without having to redo the city of Chicago for some sporting events that have been reported to actually break every other place that they have taken place? Do we really need to do this, we're broke already? Shouldn't we be worrying more about fixing the spending and corruption here then playing games? Don't get me wrong I'm all for the Olympics and sports, been a sports mom for 25 years but come on priorities, IL is killing us financially, it is corrupt (imho), doesn't seem to care about people or businesses and we are worries about getting the Olympics here. I don't get it??

Health care again, states, well some of them, have to pay for increases in medicare, mandated insurance and on and on yet they swear it will not cost us anymore money. Well here in IL where unemployment is very high and more companies leave daily it seems, we are taxed to death, young people can;t get jobs, neither can old ones for that matter, I know cause I've been off work for 3 years and so have many of my friends how can young people buy insurance? How can I if I can't get a job? So my son and I will get hefty fines and face jail, which I mentioned before may be the best option, we've already paid for that. Also if the states are forced to pay higher Medicare cost, who do they think is really going to pay for that?? We are, we the people stuck in these states. It's pathetic!! Things do roll down hill and Mr. President I'm afraid for what you are doing to our pocket book that is already stressed to the limit. And since I live in IL and they are going to be hit with these fees and they can't afford all the stuff they pay for now, and I wish someone would tell us where all our tax money goes, how can we afford more??

OK well, the news is just so depressing these day, tax and spend, tax and spend, can you tell it's a Democrat government! I am going to find a good movie and crochet for awhile. Have a good one and God Bless America.

The arrogance of power in Washington generated the dissent and protest in Town-hall meetings and the movement of the Tea Parties. Elitism and wasteful spending of tax-payers dollars is no longer to be tolerated.

Items I've made recently

I made a couple of chemo caps for a friend's friend. The vintage spider web doily for a doily exchange & CAL. The cable hearts squares for a HMB ghan, the 6" squares for an exchange, there are others too, coasters and more squares for Sept exchanges that I forgot to take pictures of. The last photo is my first try at rebatching soap. I had received a little bucket of homemade soap chips, they became my first soap project, wouldn't want to waste them. I wanted my bars to be different so I used some spaghettio's cans for molds to make the round bars. I have to get busy assembling a couple of HMB ghans before I get involved in any other projects, Have a great day!




Healthcare or Fines & Jail

Ok, so a willful intent not to buy health insurance could get you a $25,000 fine and maybe a misdemeanor charge and jail time in some places. What is willful and what if you just can't afford it??

How does the government take our money at least 2x for healthcare and then through us in jail if we do't pay for it for a 3rd time. Folks if you work you pay for healthcare. You may never get that healthcare, it is called Medicare, the government takes money our of your check for it but you aren't allowed to use it until you are old and the program is broke now. So in reality you are paying for a healthcare program you may never get to use. You will more then likely be taxed in one way or another for Obama care and you may not get to use it. And if you don't have insurance you will pay again if you don't buy some.

Why don't they just take the income from the Medicare money and figure out a plan that takes care of people if they feel they have to give away health care. And if I need care could you check and see how much I have already paid for health care "Medicare"?

Check out the GOP new ad on medical taxes. We are headed to a $0 income by the time they get done taxing us, not only on health care but everything else. When will we be taxed for each breathe we take? This is unbelievable. Tax on wheelchairs, it's in the bill, can you believe it! At least 8 new taxes and if you don't buy it you will pay for it in fines and maybe jail.

So when they tax us out of our jobs how do they expect us to pay for health care?
And if we can't afford to pay for health insurance on our own, how do they expect us to pay fines? Maybe jail will be the best option, getting something for all those tax dollars, free lodging, free 3 meals a day, free health care!!!

It is my opinion that we are taxed to death. We need to clean house and start this program over again. 1% tax is what is was only supposed to be in the beginning, the government was put in place to protect us not support us and pay for everyone's everything and certainly not to protect frogs, minnows and turtles, I believe that God has the best plan, you know the 'life cycle', 'food chains', etc?

President or Dictator?
Most of what we do in America is done on the internet. You can't even apply for a job without using the internet these days. Many years ago someone had a great idea to 'go paperless', even though we still use as much paper as we ever did most things are also online (The fear of pc failure keeps people from totally relying on computers). The internet is supposed to be free. So why is it bothering the president? Why does he think he needs to regulate it? Just another charge for the middle class, swiftly heading us right to that $0 pay stub I mentioned before. Just keep interring in our lives and charging us for everything. Well, at least it;s not a tax, just a fee or a charge. What is the difference, no matter what it is so far it seems that everything this President has done costs us something one way or another.

Dear Mr. President,
Please leave us alone, shouldn't you be more concerned about our troops, supposedly losing a battle overseas instead of regulating our internet?

The only thing I can think of why it's so important to shut down the internet is to make sure we don't get the truth about the communist czars and other corruptions associated with this administration makes it a dire need for them to silence the world.

Things I'm Thankful for!


Although it seems like things get worse and worse everyday in this world, with the government, crime and corruption, etc.... I thought to myself, after my latest big vent, I want to focus the rest of the day on the good things in life...the things we have to be thankful for...

Sitting here, the very first thing that comes to my mind, Jesus, he gave his life so we can live! God, The sacrifice he made, how is heart must have ached to see His Son dying on the cross. My heart aches just thinking about it but it is the ultimate sacrifice give freely to us! Thank you Lord! I am thankful that we have a God that forgives us when we really and truly repent and want to live our lives for him, he gives us a second chance. Not only a second chance but a third and forth..on and on as we struggle each day to live a Christ like life and fall short, make mistakes and ask for another chance tomorrow.

I am so blessed to have my family. There was 2 times in my life when I didn't even know if I'd be alive to see my children grow up, become great adult people and have families of their own. There was a couple of times in my life when I didn't think I'd ever have a partner that really loved and cared for me and Thanks be to God, I have both of these. Four of the greatest kids and 3 wonderful grandkids and a wonderful husband. We may not be perfect but we are Family!!

Wow, look outside, the sun is shining, bright, the birds and insects are singing. The corn so tall and swaying in the perfect breeze. The biggest marigolds I've ever seen and just as I was sitting here I received visitors. And I was outside visiting for an hour. One person I know and one a just met. What a blessing that visit was. Me and the new friend were able to talk about Jesus, planting seeds with conversation. I love it when that happens.

That visit was made possible because of Freecycle. One thing I will say for this great world there are so many people who are so giving and will help others. We are able to help others with what we have and no longer need, there are so many blessings each day through these groups. Yesterday a very nice person gave me a twin mattress. I had given the one I had to my daughter, who had let a friend move in and needed something for her to sleep on. I couldn't afford another so the box spring had no partner until this wonderful person chose me to give her mattress a new home. Thank you very much. Today I was able to pass the blessing along to someone who needed a tub, she had bought a house that needs fixing up and one day she went to the house only to find all the items in it like the tub, sink etc had been stolen. I also got to meet this person who gives herself to ministries of helping abused women.

Another thing I am thankful for is my husband not only because he is my husband but for the fact that he works so hard, so that I do not have to. Sure our lifestyle has changed drastically since I became unemployed and it has plummeted this past year, but the adjustments we have had to make, I think, also make life better, sort of getting back to basics, it refreshes the soul. Back to baking, canning, making my own soap , hanging out the clothes, they smell so fresh. I like being home to get the kids off to school, be available if they call and home to listen to all there is to say when they come home. :))

I am thankful that God gave me the talent to crochet. It make me feel good mostly to make things that comfort others, a friendship shawl for a gift or when someone needs a hug, a prayer shawl, making lapghans and taking them a putting them on laps of people in wheelchairs at the nursing homes, little baby blankies that get delivered to the little ones at the hospital, gifts from the heart on holidays, these are my favorite. And for fun I love to make items to exchange with others, it's so neat to see what they will make for you. I'm thankful that I can do a variety of other crafts too for the same reason.

I am thankful that in my life I have "had and had not". For the times I 'had not' that made me work hard and learn to do things to take care of myself and my family. I am thankful for the times I have 'had' when we were able to things and have things, for all of those things I am very thankful. I am even thankful now that we have been returned to the times of just getting by, we have what we need and the skills to make do with less. We appreciate what we have more I think and are focused more on the real important things, Jesus, family, friends. Sometimes I wonder if we were put in this situation for that very reason.

I am thankful for our little farm and animals. I am partial to the horses. I aways wanted horses and we have been blessed with nine of them. They are so beautiful. Watching them run, care for their young, watching the herd with it's hierarchy and each ones individual traits, it's just amazing.

I am thankful for everyday that I am given to spend on this earth with my family and friends. Thank you, God.

I hope that no matter how bad you think things are that you can find the rose among the thorns and take a moment to give thanks and praise to our Father that makes all things possible!
