All we have to trust in is God

Here is Illinois it seems like more and more often we wake to the news that some fee or tax is going to be increased or a new fee or tax is going to be imposed, it is the same in many states. What are we to do but pray that God will provide for us.

Yesterday it was increase in the cost of a drivers license and a notice that come January there will be an increase in license plate renewal fees. The latter alone means a $120 dollars increase a year for my family, unfortunately there was no increase in my husbands wages, as a matter of fact, his raise/cost of living increase was postponed til next year and who knows if things keep on if he will ever get one, the outlook is dreary. What are we to do except pray that God will find us worthy to be provided for.

Today first thing I read that in Rockford, they have been threatened that they must increase the garbage collection fees or have a big layoff of city employees, police, fire etc. They recently laid a bunch of people off. Why are we getting new address signs in our yards when we can't afford to protect people? Why isn't our money being managed better? We are all expected to cut back to just be able to afford necessities but the government who is also experiencing financial problems continues to squander OUR money. Why do they threaten us with taking away police, fire fighters and teachers, when those are exactly what OUR money is given to them to provide for us, instead of giving us shiny new green address markers and street signs with nice little American flags. It is because they know that these threats hit us where it counts and most will vote to allow these increases to keep these things. It is sad the abuse of power. What are we do to but pray that God will provide for us.

As I have vented about time and time again, they are taking and taking, no one is giving. They raise fees and taxes, businesses leave, there is less revenue so they they raise the fees and taxes again. The people still here, many unemployed because the companies can not afford the fees and taxes or have just left or closed, cutting business of other businesses, these people are left trying to pay for all the things IL wants whether we need them or not. Then more companies leave or close because they can't afford the increases, even less revenue, so what will they do, raise fees and taxes, who will pay, those of us still here, it is a viscious cycle and yet we do not get an increase to help pay for all of these fees and taxes. Soon we will not have any funds to pay our own bills, you know things like the mortgage, gas, electric, food, things like that, we'll sell cars because we can't afford to keep them, some won't buy them because the costs to keep them increase, this hurts the car salesman on and on it goes but we will have a shiny new green flag in our yard that announces our address or a $3000 sign on the side of the road telling why the road is being worked on, but yet no one is working on it,Hmmmm. What can we do but pray and pray hard that God will find us worthy to provide for what we need..

We also need to pray for our government, local and federal, that they will stop taking and reorganize so that we are provided with the basic things they are supposed provide to us, that they would actually cut all the wasteful spending and allow us to live our lives and provide for our families with the hard earned money that we make instead of them selfishly taking it all and wasting it on things we do not need. We need to pray for this and that God would actually Bless America. We need to pray that we change our ways to become worthy of God's Blessings. These are very scary times and what can we do except pray to God for help, guidance and that He will find us worthy to provide for our needs.

It's amazing how the country is today......

Listening to the news this morning and wondering why we are the way we are...

Mom faces fines and jail for letting kids wait for bus at her house, yet the Presidents preaches that we should help our neighbors. Hmmm

We are a country (I thought) that is anti-communist, tries to help other countries become democratic societies, help people get away from dictatorship leaderships, yet we're lighting up the Empire State building in Red to honor Communist China's Anniversary. I don't get it??

The President won't answer his General on sending more troops to Afghanistan or send our troops home if you aren't going to help them, but he has time to go beg for the Olympics to be in a city that doesn't even seem to be sure that they want it there.
Aren't there many more important things to deal with then the Olympics, Mr. President? Doesn't this state (IL) have enough wasteful expense without having to redo the city of Chicago for some sporting events that have been reported to actually break every other place that they have taken place? Do we really need to do this, we're broke already? Shouldn't we be worrying more about fixing the spending and corruption here then playing games? Don't get me wrong I'm all for the Olympics and sports, been a sports mom for 25 years but come on priorities, IL is killing us financially, it is corrupt (imho), doesn't seem to care about people or businesses and we are worries about getting the Olympics here. I don't get it??

Health care again, states, well some of them, have to pay for increases in medicare, mandated insurance and on and on yet they swear it will not cost us anymore money. Well here in IL where unemployment is very high and more companies leave daily it seems, we are taxed to death, young people can;t get jobs, neither can old ones for that matter, I know cause I've been off work for 3 years and so have many of my friends how can young people buy insurance? How can I if I can't get a job? So my son and I will get hefty fines and face jail, which I mentioned before may be the best option, we've already paid for that. Also if the states are forced to pay higher Medicare cost, who do they think is really going to pay for that?? We are, we the people stuck in these states. It's pathetic!! Things do roll down hill and Mr. President I'm afraid for what you are doing to our pocket book that is already stressed to the limit. And since I live in IL and they are going to be hit with these fees and they can't afford all the stuff they pay for now, and I wish someone would tell us where all our tax money goes, how can we afford more??

OK well, the news is just so depressing these day, tax and spend, tax and spend, can you tell it's a Democrat government! I am going to find a good movie and crochet for awhile. Have a good one and God Bless America.
Please pray for our government, we need all the help we can get!

Items I've made recently

I made a couple of chemo caps for a friend's friend. The vintage spider web doily for a doily exchange & CAL. The cable hearts squares for a HMB ghan, the 6" squares for an exchange, there are others too, coasters and more squares for Sept exchanges that I forgot to take pictures of. The last photo is my first try at rebatching soap. I had received a little bucket of homemade soap chips, they became my first soap project, wouldn't want to waste them. I wanted my bars to be different so I used some spaghettio's cans for molds to make the round bars. I have to get busy assembling a couple of HMB ghans before I get involved in any other projects, Have a great day!




Healthcare or Fines & Jail

Ok, so a willful intent not to buy health insurance could get you a $25,000 fine and maybe a misdemeanor charge and jail time in some places. What is willful and what if you just can't afford it??

How does the government take our money at least 2x for healthcare and then through us in jail if we do't pay for it for a 3rd time. Folks if you work you pay for healthcare. You may never get that healthcare, it is called Medicare, the government takes money our of your check for it but you aren't allowed to use it until you are old and the program is broke now. So in reality you are paying for a healthcare program you may never get to use. You will more then likely be taxed in one way or another for Obama care and you may not get to use it. And if you don't have insurance you will pay again if you don't buy some.

Why don't they just take the income from the Medicare money and figure out a plan that takes care of people if they feel they have to give away health care. And if I need care could you check and see how much I have already paid for health care "Medicare"?

Check out the GOP new ad on medical taxes. We are headed to a $0 income by the time they get done taxing us, not only on health care but everything else. When will we be taxed for each breathe we take? This is unbelievable. Tax on wheelchairs, it's in the bill, can you believe it! At least 8 new taxes and if you don't buy it you will pay for it in fines and maybe jail.

So when they tax us out of our jobs how do they expect us to pay for health care?
And if we can't afford to pay for health insurance on our own, how do they expect us to pay fines? Maybe jail will be the best option, getting something for all those tax dollars, free lodging, free 3 meals a day, free health care!!!

It is my opinion that we are taxed to death. We need to clean house and start this program over again. 1% tax is what is was only supposed to be in the beginning, the government was put in place to protect us not support us and pay for everyone's everything and certainly not to protect frogs, minnows and turtles, I believe that God has the best plan, you know the 'life cycle', 'food chains', etc?

President or Dictator?
Most of what we do in America is done on the internet. You can't even apply for a job without using the internet these days. Many years ago someone had a great idea to 'go paperless', even though we still use as much paper as we ever did most things are also online (The fear of pc failure keeps people from totally relying on computers). The internet is supposed to be free. So why is it bothering the president? Why does he think he needs to regulate it? Just another charge for the middle class, swiftly heading us right to that $0 pay stub I mentioned before. Just keep interring in our lives and charging us for everything. Well, at least it;s not a tax, just a fee or a charge. What is the difference, no matter what it is so far it seems that everything this President has done costs us something one way or another.

Dear Mr. President,
Please leave us alone, shouldn't you be more concerned about our troops, supposedly losing a battle overseas instead of regulating our internet?

The only thing I can think of why it's so important to shut down the internet is to make sure we don't get the truth about the communist czars and other corruptions associated with this administration makes it a dire need for them to silence the world.

Things I'm Thankful for!


Although it seems like things get worse and worse everyday in this world, with the government, crime and corruption, etc.... I thought to myself, after my latest big vent, I want to focus the rest of the day on the good things in life...the things we have to be thankful for...

Sitting here, the very first thing that comes to my mind, Jesus, he gave his life so we can live! God, The sacrifice he made, how is heart must have ached to see His Son dying on the cross. My heart aches just thinking about it but it is the ultimate sacrifice give freely to us! Thank you Lord! I am thankful that we have a God that forgives us when we really and truly repent and want to live our lives for him, he gives us a second chance. Not only a second chance but a third and forth..on and on as we struggle each day to live a Christ like life and fall short, make mistakes and ask for another chance tomorrow.

I am so blessed to have my family. There was 2 times in my life when I didn't even know if I'd be alive to see my children grow up, become great adult people and have families of their own. There was a couple of times in my life when I didn't think I'd ever have a partner that really loved and cared for me and Thanks be to God, I have both of these. Four of the greatest kids and 3 wonderful grandkids and a wonderful husband. We may not be perfect but we are Family!!

Wow, look outside, the sun is shining, bright, the birds and insects are singing. The corn so tall and swaying in the perfect breeze. The biggest marigolds I've ever seen and just as I was sitting here I received visitors. And I was outside visiting for an hour. One person I know and one a just met. What a blessing that visit was. Me and the new friend were able to talk about Jesus, planting seeds with conversation. I love it when that happens.

That visit was made possible because of Freecycle. One thing I will say for this great world there are so many people who are so giving and will help others. We are able to help others with what we have and no longer need, there are so many blessings each day through these groups. Yesterday a very nice person gave me a twin mattress. I had given the one I had to my daughter, who had let a friend move in and needed something for her to sleep on. I couldn't afford another so the box spring had no partner until this wonderful person chose me to give her mattress a new home. Thank you very much. Today I was able to pass the blessing along to someone who needed a tub, she had bought a house that needs fixing up and one day she went to the house only to find all the items in it like the tub, sink etc had been stolen. I also got to meet this person who gives herself to ministries of helping abused women.

Another thing I am thankful for is my husband not only because he is my husband but for the fact that he works so hard, so that I do not have to. Sure our lifestyle has changed drastically since I became unemployed and it has plummeted this past year, but the adjustments we have had to make, I think, also make life better, sort of getting back to basics, it refreshes the soul. Back to baking, canning, making my own soap , hanging out the clothes, they smell so fresh. I like being home to get the kids off to school, be available if they call and home to listen to all there is to say when they come home. :))

I am thankful that God gave me the talent to crochet. It make me feel good mostly to make things that comfort others, a friendship shawl for a gift or when someone needs a hug, a prayer shawl, making lapghans and taking them a putting them on laps of people in wheelchairs at the nursing homes, little baby blankies that get delivered to the little ones at the hospital, gifts from the heart on holidays, these are my favorite. And for fun I love to make items to exchange with others, it's so neat to see what they will make for you. I'm thankful that I can do a variety of other crafts too for the same reason.

I am thankful that in my life I have "had and had not". For the times I 'had not' that made me work hard and learn to do things to take care of myself and my family. I am thankful for the times I have 'had' when we were able to things and have things, for all of those things I am very thankful. I am even thankful now that we have been returned to the times of just getting by, we have what we need and the skills to make do with less. We appreciate what we have more I think and are focused more on the real important things, Jesus, family, friends. Sometimes I wonder if we were put in this situation for that very reason.

I am thankful for our little farm and animals. I am partial to the horses. I aways wanted horses and we have been blessed with nine of them. They are so beautiful. Watching them run, care for their young, watching the herd with it's hierarchy and each ones individual traits, it's just amazing.

I am thankful for everyday that I am given to spend on this earth with my family and friends. Thank you, God.

I hope that no matter how bad you think things are that you can find the rose among the thorns and take a moment to give thanks and praise to our Father that makes all things possible!









Ashamed to be an Illinoisian


(This is my opinion, as is everything I post on this blog SMB statement:))

Well yesterday was kind of a blah day for me. First it started out wonderful as all days do, but when I received a text message that said the Bachman family would get $15.5M for their loss, I was elated. It's about time the county does some thing right for it's people for a change. Well spent tax money if you ask me, they say they are looking for way to raise the funds that the insurance doesn't cover. Oh about get rid of wasteful spending, like replacing perfectly good address signs, whats up with that and street signs replaced to have little flags on them. Frankly I prefer the red address sign that is in my yard, it doesn't blend into the trees and grass etc and it isn't a dump looking flag thing. Please leave my address sign alone, besides it wasn't that long ago that they replaced the old rusty one with a shiny new one. Stop the wasteful spending of our money please!!! Not to mention, but I will later the terrible reconstruction of the intersection where this tragedy happened. Oh my goodness, yesterday was the first I've seen it completed since I heard many folks complain about it on the radio.

Soon the emotion turned from elated to confusion. If they settled for two of the kids, why did it say in the next paragraph that DJ's case is still outstanding and may go to trial. WHY??? Stop dragging these people through this ordeal, if you settle for 2 of them people in the car why drag it on for the 3rd? I just don't get it. And why are they even considering raising costs on things for us, we the people, for the deficit, may you officers should have a car wash or something every weekend to pay for your error, cut back on office supplies, I'm not sure but you can find ways to pay for your own mistakes just like we have to. I'm going to leave that there because I'll just get more fired up and ruin my day if I don't.

As the day went on it got worse, the grocer copped a tiny attitude when I called to check if they price match and accepted coupons, first a lady told me, a bit sternly I thought, that they do not take internet coupons, like they are contaminated or something, why do the manufacturers have us print them from their websites if the stores won't accept them? When I asked if they price match, she took a breath and told me to hold, next I know the manager is on the phone asking me, you know in that voice they get when they are defensive, "Can help you"? I asked ?Do you price match"? "No", he replied, "we have our own ads, our own specials and in house offers, we do not price match". "Oh, ok", I said a bit offended, "and you don't take internet coupons"? I asked. "No, nothing you print, copy on a machine nothing but newspaper and magazine coupons, is there anything else I can help you with"? I certainly didn't want to talk to him anymore so I said "No, thank you, good bye". He was pretty stern. What is the big deal. I thought long and hard before I went to take advantage of their sales but getting nearly $100 of groceries for $55 was worth it and I felt as though I had turned the other cheek.

After that phone call I head to Loves Park, bless the lady from freecycle that gave me a twin mattress for the bed that my dear son had stolen the mattress off of to give to his gf. :)) Well, at least I think I have installed a giving trait in him. So that brings me to the intersection of W. State St and Weldon Rd. The site of the tragic Bachman accident, if you thought that intersection was bad before, with the overpass blocking some of the view as the road curves into that area, on my goodness, there is so many dashes and lines and new lanes, I honestly wasn't sure if I was driving in the right space. Once I got past that and on the normal path my first thought was they think they had problems before, I wonder that that mess will cause. I had heard people complain about it on the radio and now I know for myself. I think it is more dangerous now then before, hopefully it is just one of those dumb changes we just have to get used to and hopefully it won't claim anymore lives in the meantime. Be careful out there!

Driving along I hear on the radio the names of the 7 senators that voted to continue giving our hard earned tax dollars to Acorn. Should I have been surprised that 2 of them were from IL. Sen. Dick Durbin D and Sen. Roland Burris D. If it wasn't bad enough getting comments from people in other states, (we travel & have a kid in college in another state that gets the same) asking us why we voted in Obama and things about the IL mob. Now it is broadcast all over America that our senators support minor abuse and prostitution and want the tax payers to pay for it. Oh My Gosh, would some one move me out of this state soon! This is unbelievable. God help us, please. Amen. I do not understand what is wrong with people that would vote to continue to support such a thing? I'm sorry to say but I think IL government is corrupt and that the mob still reigns here just like the old days and the one of them is leading all of us down the tubes from the White House and it makes me very sad.

The American people stand up and those in DC have the nerve to call those that put them there in the first place Nazi's and racist and a whole host of other things. Well have you heard that old childhood saying, nanadabooboo what bounces of me sticks on you (something like that)meaning what you call me you really are. I cry sometimes as I watch the way things are forming in our Capital and can only hope that like Van Jones we can continue to stand against this madness and remove these people from office. Stand fast America, 2010 is just around the corner. Thank you Glenn Beck for having the nerve to expose this disgrace to the world, keep up the good fight! I also pray that if they get their way on too many things that Jesus will comes back and rescue us before it gets too bad. :)

The final issue that made me upset and it was a national thing, is seeing X-president Jimmy Carter on TV saying that if we stand up against what we don't like about what the government, it is because of race. Oh my gosh, will the left get off it. We are not racist we are upset about what's happening to our country and it doesn't have anything to do with anyone's skin color! Thank you Michael Steele, for standing up and speaking the truth just now, it is not racial! BRAVO!!

This is only a few things that made me sad and ashamed to be an Illinoisian yesterday. I'm sure their is a whole bunch of things that happened that we don't even know about. As this government seems to like to work while we sleep.

Hey on a good note, twice as many people protested their property taxes this year then even last year when we all got hit
Czars= 32 people running things, advising the President and spending trillions of your dollars and answering to No One. We didn't elect them, we had no say so in hiring them, we're paying them, whats wrong with this picture? Most of them I wouldn't let watch my children (if they were little). :)

If someone comments to you about the government garbage and why you "the person from IL" voted them in , stand proud and tell them "I didn't do it"! :))

The Baucus Health Care Plan.
1>Mandatory individual insurance w/a fine of $3,800 per family for non-compliance. Well heck if I can't afford insurance, how can I afford a fine like that?
2> $349 Billion in new taxes and fees w/ 35% for the good stuff.
So does this mean the people in Washington DC will be paying these taxes and fees, out of their pockets I hope, for that great benefits we provide to them??
3> $507Billion dollars in cuts to Medicare
Thought it wasn't going to affect our elderly?

The only good thing I see so far is it would get rid of the 'existing conditions' policy!

He's on TV again

Please tell me why the President has to be on TV almost every day. It is a bit disturbing to me that he has to be in our homes almost everyday.
I still feel like this is what dictators do.
Shouldn't he be in DC, reading the bills and making sure that the people writing them aren't fulfilling their own wants, read and revise that health care plan, maybe even doing that line by live clean up of government spending that he promised. Maybe we should clean out the garbage before we pass anymore bills.

Should you have to apologize if what you said was true?

So Mr. Wilson apologized for calling the President a liar more then once. But of course that isn't good enough for the Dems. But please tell me should this man be dragged over the coals for telling the truth. It is my humble opinion that if you do not want to be called a liar, you shouldn't tell lies. I think many more people there in DC should be publicly given that title. Especially those calling for his punishment!
It is time for a DC overhaul.
Can we please have some honest, God fearing Americans fill those positions??

President in on TV again this morning......

Isn't this the 3rd or 4th day in a row?
Wasn't the speech last enough? Does he really think We the People are so dumb that they need to repeat it? Or is it the process that repeating things 3 times in a row makes you remember it? Brainwashing or dictatorship, I'm just trying to figure out why this man has to be on TV everyday, ok maybe every other day. Is it just ego? Is there a bit of insecurity about the health care plan that he has to keep trying to force this on us? It reminds me of a when my children were nervous, usually about getting caught for doing something wrong, always in front of me trying to spin a tale before we finally get to the truth. I'm so very thankful there are people out there that actually investigate what is going on in DC and bring us the truth.

Immgration

I would like to know why people (obviously foreign decent) standing in a courtroom, facing traffic violations with no drivers license, no social security number and no green cards, are not ordered to prove who they are, that they even have a license to be driving and that they are allowed to be in this country before they are allowed to leave the courthouse. And if they can not do so, why aren't they deported? I'm just curious. From what I hear the judge, baliff, no one in the courtroom even gave it a second thought. One has their case dropped and the other receive the minimum fine and they left. How can this be? Don't they take our tax dollars to pay people to make sure that everyone in this country is here legally? Aren't they supposed to do so to keep us safe? Isn't that the main duty of our government?

I'm confused...

In his speech tonight, first the President said that his health are plan would be paid for by premiums of the people that choose that plan.

Than he is said that it will be paid for by making cuts in waste (we've heard that before) and reform of Medicare and by charging fees to private insurance companies that don't do what they want.
Which is it?

And as predicted he is using Ted Kennedy.

And talking about the Character of our country, our self reliance, that a good one, since China owns most of this country, bails us out by buying our debts and the Arabs control us with oil.

Really, we are all the better for social security, we will enter our golden years with piece of mind? Really? Teachers are telling my son there will be no social security for them to collect when it is their time to retire. I've been told for years that there won't be any when it's time for me to retire.






Again today...

Nice to learn the government is voting on a new Czar, one who wants to do away with the 2nd amendment as we know it, one that wants to ban hunting and fine farmers to the point of destruction, without even asking us. Not even a whisper that they were going to do this??
Nope instead they made the health care meeting the top news story so they could sneak another one in.

This is our government. How terrible to preach to kids one day about moral responsibility and then cheat the American people out of their rights to approve who will be running our country.
They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I must say the vote to clean out these people can not come soon enough. Dems and Reps alike are voting for this Czar. I hope America is paying attention to what this government is taking away from us day after day after day.

Didn't God give us meat to eat?
Aren't farms here so we can eat?? I hope when they shut down all the farms they will give us some good rations. There are things in meat and dairy products that our bodies need to be healthy. Hello out there, are we going to live on iceberg lettuce and actually how long of a life will that be? Oh I get it, we die from nutrition deficiency, less people to care for with the government health care.
Oh my gosh.
Animals before people, I really don't get it!!
Do they stop to think about the fall out of anything they do is?

Political vent, It amazes me

That our President is always on the TV. It seems like he is trying to brainwash us or something. Aren't dictators the ones on the TV and radio all the time, keeping their issues in your face all the time? And now they are piping him into our schools. I will give him credit the revised speech was a good one. Is it just me or has he been in our face more in his short stint in office then any other president was in their entire term? If everything he is doing is so great and wonderful for us why does he constantly have to be on tv defending or demanding it?

I hear he will be on the TV tomorrow again sternly telling us What He Wants and having them push through a bill that they can tweak later". Do we really believe that once they force their agenda on us that they will tweak it later??
It amazes me even more when he is on the TV and sternly says to us what "He wants done and that he wants it now". Is he threatening OUR congress? What if they do not do what he wants? Hmmm? What about what we want Mr. President? What about what We The People want? You know, even many that elected you have voiced that they do not want your health care plan or many of your other "Changes"? You know We The People that you and all those people in DC work for?
How come you just keep saying we voted for this, can't you see and hear that it isn't quite what they voted for. Why won't you people listen? Instead you think demanding that it goes the way you want will unite this country? You people think belittling the American that voices his opinion, because he doesn't agree with you, is how you unite this country? Name calling, belittling and bullying, is this how grown men are supposed to handle things?

I have a great idea...
Why don't all you people we elected in DC give up all the perks we pay for that we can't afford to have? How about you give up the big salaries and actually just serve the people for a minimal salary like the rest of the people. Better yet, volunteer your time to serve your country like you, Mr. President tell us to do? Oh by the way the majority of us do that and you didn't even have to tell us to, we do it on our own.

Why don't you people give up your expensive health care and spread that wealth to those less fortunate? Pay for your health care plan like we have to. Pay for everyone else's health care like you want us to. Honestly if you want a government run health care program shouldn't it begin at home? (Government) Imagine how much money we the tax payers could save if we didn't have to pay so much to take care of those serving us for the rest of their lives. Like big retirement salaries for the rest of their lives, is that right? Shouldn't you all be contributing to a 401k just like we are told to do, so that when we lose our retirement, you lose yours too??

How about you get rid of the communist, socialist, Marxist people that are put into jobs to run our country, (czars) that We The People have to pay for but We The People did not elect nor did we have any say what so ever in their placement. Do you not think that if people really wanted to live in a communist or socialist country there are plenty of them available to move to? Instead people from those kind of countries are coming here. Isn't that interesting? However, I have heard some people are getting ready to flew the US when you have turned it into one of these types of countries.

Are there any people in DC that actually care about the American People, people without agenda, people who tell the truth, pay their taxes, do what we ask them to do, are there?? I'm beginning to think not. It's sad to me. Who can we really trust to look out for us? We elect people who tell us a bunch of lies just to get elected and then they go off and do whatever they want or someone pays them, in one way or another, to do and We The People are left once again to hope for the best while we are being taxed to death. I don't have a job now, I gave up trying to get one. We are living on my husbands paycheck week to week, the wasteful & corrupted state of IL wants to raise income tax, car license fees, service tax (so any thing we might find a dollar to do that's fun, we will have to pay tax on that too), gasoline tax, property taxes just went up for everyone, just to name a few. Then we have a president spending trillions and trillions of our tax money which in the end will come back to my husbands paycheck and yours. I wonder who will pay the mortgage, buy the groceries, put gas in the car, help the kids with tuition, heat the house, turn on the lights etc when my husband brings home a check stub that says thank you for living in IL and being a great American, your net pay is $0??

Let us see the bills you are pushing through, demand that those we elect read them before voting. Let's see that line by line cleaning out of the garbage that we are paying for, you promised you were going to do that. Imagine what we could save. All those things that we pay for now and all the things they sneak into every bill they pass, we have to sacrifice why you DC people sacrifice? We have to sacrifice why don't you people that we elect to protect us sacrifice, how about just a little bit? Just a little bit??

The only reason there is a government is to protect us from people who do not have respect for their fellow man, those that do not play by the rules, you know those that want to rob, harm or kill us. It is not the purpose of the government to save animals, or to do anything else except protect us. I believe that is what the consitution says. It is supposed to protect our freedom to pursue happiness not tell us how to be happy. Maybe my idea of happy isn't the same as my President's or my congressmen. Could you people please worry about the terrorists and other people that want to do away with us, build a few more prisons, tend to the criminals and just let the rest of us live our lives without your intrusion? Get rid of the waste and give us our money back so we can pursue happiness as we see fit. Get rid of waste and give our employers their money back so they can afford to give us jobs us so we can work, buy our own health care, maybe fix the roads and everything else our families need and pursue happiness as we see fit.

For the past few days I get up with a plan to do a bunch of things but others have different plans and I haven't been able to accomplish much! Today, just as I was about to get busy around the house, the hospital called and since the Dr added an extra MRI they wanted to know if I could be there at noon instead of 3:30. So I got ready and off I went. It was nice though, things went pretty smooth there, both MRI's, a Cat Scan, got something to eat, went to 2 stores and picked up some green tomatoes from a friend and was home, all before I was actually supposed to have the tests.
I out the fixings for Bloody Mary bread in the bread machine, thought I might get a little nap but again others had different plans, so I got up, cooked some chicken, had a salad, caught up on email, facebook, etc. Crocheted a little. I'm just playing on facebook watching tv. Maybe tomorrow I'll get something done around here.

Today it's raining, grey and gloomy again. I messed around on the pc for a bit this morning, offered some stuff on freecycle and then I tackled the mess I had made of the living room. I started this potato bread in the machine and then went to my yearly check up. When I got home the bread was done. BJ took it out of the pan and we ate some, hot & buttered, it was delicious. I don't think I've ever eaten potato bread before. The bread was so good that it even brought out the devil in the dog, when I went in the other room to read about putting the pumpkin bread mix I have in the bread machine the dog took the bread. Bad, bad doggie!! lol
Well I guess that's about it for today, dinner is on and waiting for hubby to get home, I'm going to try this bread mix in the machine, then I think I'll crochet and play games for awhile. Have a wonderful night!

Blah day

It's wet & gloomy outside, the forecast says it's going to be cool for as far as it forecasted. :(
I'm not ready for the temps to drop, but then I never am.
It is a good day to do some house cleaning, put up some cupboard doors and maybe paint the rest of them, crochet and play games on facebook. BJ went back to school today.

It only took me 3 tries to make a good loaf of bread. Lesson
learned, if the bread caves in, in the center (using a bread machine), reduce the amount of water used in the recipe. When I get more yeast I'm going to try the potato bread, it just sounds good.

In the Beginning & Medical Waste

Hi this is the beginning of my new blog. I am going to use this forum to talk about my family, hobbies, thoughts, beliefs and anything else that comes to my mind. A forum for fun and release if I may. :)

That being said, I'll get to what finally persuaded me to start a blog is the Health care issue & my hubby and medical waste of money as I see it. Last year my husband was hurt at work, he has 2 herniated discs in his neck. When the incident happened he immediately went to the Dr and began seeing out Chiropractor. At first workman's comp allowed the chiropractor and it seemed to be helping my husband. Then they said he had to stop going and of course they wouldn't pay the bill. Anyway, hubby works everyday with this pain in his neck until he can't stand it anymore and although he'd like to return to the chiropractic care the WC (workman's comp) say he must follow their procedure. So OK he is doing things their way and I've been thinking about it....
He goes to the Dr, they send him for an MRI, then they send him to the spine specialist. And as I had suggested to him they would, they told him he should have surgery on his neck to fuse his vertebrae together. Well then he will lose some mobility in his neck and then I wonder how would he do his job? Oh we're told he could be trained to do another. blah blah blah and I ask who will pay for future surgeries when the vertebrae next to these have to be fused and on and on we go.
Anyway, he asked them (WC) if he could get a second opinion? They agreed so now they paid for him to go to another spine specialist. Oh yea, in the meantime he is going to massage therapy 2x a week. (God forgive me I'm jealous of that :)) Can you imagine how much all of this is costing WC? Well hubby asked and the massage therapy alone is $125 a visit. $7000 a year they told him. Now so far none of this has done anything to help in the way the chiroprator was and through discussion we feel would continue to improve his condition. And the cost of the chiropractor vist minischule compared to all the the money this treatment has cost to this point.
But because they to not recognise chiropractic, they will pay out the nose for nothing. Well at least they did prove with the MRI that they (careless people & over crowded work environment) ruined his neck, for life we're told.
Wouldn't it be easier and a whole cheaper on all of the companies in the country is they'd reconsider the chiropractic advantage?? I can only think that WC and the Dr's are in cahoots with each other or something. Why are they always rushing to stick a knife in you? Who does that benefit except the surgeon and lawyers? Why is health care a mess, I think this is part of it, waste!!

I'm going back to putting my newly painted kitchen back together. :))

Oh yea, a little tidbit about me, I'm a 49 yr. old displaced worker, now happy to be an at home wife, mom of 4 and grandma of 3. Have a little piece of land in the country and some horses, chickens, dog and cats, even a few fish. Remodeling our old farm house. We enjoy our kid's sports, which keeps us very busy and sometimes travelling. In my spare time I enjoy crocheting and other crafts. The youngest son graduates at the end of this school year and we hope to go south. It will be a joy to get out of this crazy state (that's a whole other story). We love God and Jesus is our Lord.
